How To Style Clogs With Jeans?

Are 70s trends making a comeback? Well, the re-emergence of clogs on the fashion radar has corroborated the fact. Most people feel a bit sceptic when it comes to embracing vintage trends. The reason: ridicule, laughter!! But the story is not so similar with clogs.

Clogs, which were at the zenith of their popularity in the 70s, failed to capture the attention of people in the subsequent years and went into oblivion. But in the early 2000s, clogs came back with a bang in a brand new avatar. The design of the new-generation clogs stole the hearts of many-a-woman when models paraded the fashion ramps of Gucci and Chanel in them. People looked at them in awe, such stunningly they embellished the feet of the models.

In the next few months, these wooden clogs secured the footwear shelves of every elite brand and soon surged in popularity among the women folk. The versatility and superior built of clogs made them the apple of every woman’s eye and they couldn’t help buying as many pairs as possible. Clogs became a jewel of every woman’s closet because women were able to rock them flawlessly with every possible outfit which they had in their collection. Let’s look at how women can wear clogs with jeans.

Jeans are one of the species of clothes that are never out of fashion. And wearing a pair of clogs with jeans makes for a new style statement. If your clogs is a high-heeled one, pair them with boot cut, wide leg or straight fit pair of jeans. Wearing leggings or skinny jeans with high-heel clogs is a big no since that can make your feet look big.

If you want to flaunt a trendy and modern outlook, try pairing a clog sandal with skinny jeans and don’t forget to cuff them up. Wearing some ankle jewelry will add a sophisticated touch to your outlook.

While buying womens’ wooden clogs, try to go for a versatile neutral color such as black or chocolate brown or navy blue. Such colors look cool with denims and make the classic clogs stand out.

How Clogs Help Women To Rock Any Outfit Effortlessly?

What goes out of fashion, comes back into style eventually. This phrase chimes well with the comeback of the hallowed clogs of the 70’s. Clogs were foot-favorites in those times and were worn by peasants and milk-maids as they provided excellent insulation for the feet. Down the years, their popularity faded and these wooden shoes lost their existence. Clog sandals broke into the fashion scene again in the late 2000s with all bells and whistles in a brand new avatar and people gaped at those stylish yet simple shoes with admiration and awe.

Clog sandals conjured up a fashion trend and soon dominated footwear shelves. Since shoes are one of the most important fashion accessories, clog sandals became firm-favorites of fashion conscious women. They fell in love with those wooden shoes not only because of their funky designs and vibrant colors but also their comfort. With their unique wooden soles, women’s clog sandals help tone your legs, improve your posture and reduce stress on the joints and calf muscles, thus providing relief from lumbar and lower back pain.

Women always have a fascination for fashionable shoes and clog sandals perfectly fit the bill. The shoes are ergonomically designed which keep your feet in place and maintain their shape even after hours of use. The upper part of the shoes is made of durable leather which gives it a premium appearance. Since leather is not prone to wear and tear easily, you won’t need to replace such a classic piece of footwear after some months of use. Just a little bit of cleaning or brushing them off is enough and will help them look great and last for several months.

Clog sandals come in a gamut of styles and colors and women who are sassy enough to rock in them will love those styles. These shoes come in the open back, closed front, open front, and strapped versions. The designs come in bright solid colors including red, black, burgundy, yellow, to name a few. Such classic colors work well with any outfit, be it with skinny jeans or a flowing short skirt.

How I Came To Love My First So Called Unfashionable Wooden Clogs?

Since I got out of college, I was in desperate need of getting self-dependent and pay for my own tuition for further studies I wanted to pursue. I guess this thought comes into everyone’s mind when they get past teenage years. I knew this, as it wasn’t easy for me to get a job as my age stood as a hindrance and no vacancies showed up.

This is when my mother came as a saving grace and told me about her first job. She was a waiter at a chic restaurant. This wasn’t what I was looking forward to as a career option, but I decided to give it a shot. So I went ahead and applied to a number of restaurants in the vicinity and got a call from two.

As I put on my work cap, I thought I would own a restaurant like that one day. I could see myself managing a lot of things around and the manager also praised me on a number of points. All was going well until I started feeling physically exhausted at the end of the day and my calves ached badly.

I thought this would go away but it really slowed down my working ability. This is when my manager suggested I should get myself a pair of wooden clogs that were on sale in the market. I thought that those clogs wouldn’t suit me as they were hefty and somewhat unfashionable.

I avoided this until I had to visit a doctor and to my surprise, he even suggested me to get the same pair of shoes. This is when my mom intervened and told me that it was a compulsion now. She told me to take the day off and took me to the wooden clogs store nearby. I walked in feeling uneasy about what I was about to experience.

But today I can firmly say that those pair of clogs has saved me from the bad aches which I had experienced earlier. Clogs are perfect for those who have jobs that involve standing for long hours. The perfect arch and the solid soles give you a comfortable platform to walk on. Moreover, it supports the back, unlike the heels that I wore that was slowly killing my back.

My First Experience with Clogs for Women

I had seen my friends wear clogs, but I had never bought a pair for myself.
It was not like I disliked them; I just didn’t think they could possibly match the level of comfort provided by my trusty leather heels. And I have a penchant to buy things only when I need them.

Last year, I went on a holiday to England with my friends. One of the cities we visited was Manchester, a city famous for heavy rainfall. I had packed multiple sets of clothes, accessories and shoes for our 5 day trip.

On our second day, when we took to the streets of Manchester, I didn’t realize it had rained heavily the night before and wore my leather heels. Needless to say, the shoes were fully drenched due to the water on the streets.

Thankfully, I had two extra pairs, but neither of them were water-resistant. I didn’t want to ruin any of them as the rains showed no signs of stopping anytime soon. My friends didn’t have to go through the same ordeal as me as they had brought their clogs for the trip. The clogs that my friends wore had a wooden base that was water-resistant, which allowed them to move around freely irrespective of the weather.

I decided it was the right time to get a pair of clogs for myself.

We went to a shopping district in lower Manchester to look for clogs. I was not even sure if they sold clogs in England.
One of my friends finally found us a retro-looking shoe store.

Thankfully, the store had a good collection of clogs for women.

As there were a lot of designs and colors to choose from, we spent nearly an hour in there.
Even my friends bought a pair each.

After coming back from our trip, I added a few more pairs of clogs to my collection of shoes, each with a different color to match my outfits.
