The Journey of Clogs Sandals in Life of Women

Like any other fashion item that has held a significant place in the industry, clogs have been through a long journey. These shoes primarily started off as peasant and labor shoes for mine worker and for the ones who worked in farms. The idea behind making these sturdy pairs of shoes was to keep the feet protected from random bites and hurting the workers while they slogged in these areas. The soles of these shoes were made of wood to ensure that there was sturdiness in the footwear and the leather uppers protected the feet from getting ruined in the dust and water. It also allowed the footwear to breathe.

With the advent of technologically advanced machinery, the use of manual labor reduced over a period of time and this led to the diminished use of clogs. The uprise of clogs happened again later when a number of designers took up this peasant footwear and magically reformed the way they looked to make sure that clogs looked better and clog sandals were widely accepted by women. The design houses took it upon themselves to hire people whom could skillfully make clogs sandals for women as pass them off as radiant options for footwear.

Meanwhile, doctors and therapists across the world discovered that clogs sandals for women were beneficial in a number of ways. Even if they were worn for the long duration they did not make women uncomfortable. The platform heels were made in a manner that the posture of the women was improved greatly. The load on the knees is divided uniformly and thus ensures that the hours spent standing do not make them uncomfortable at all.

The designers have brought about a variety of changes in the actual ways the clogs were. But the basics still remain the same. There is an array of colors and styles of clogs that you can choose to match with the outfits that you would want to wear. Moreover, no matter what the style of clothing you feel like wearing clogs will always be a good match for them.

How I Came To Love My First So Called Unfashionable Wooden Clogs?

Since I got out of college, I was in desperate need of getting self-dependent and pay for my own tuition for further studies I wanted to pursue. I guess this thought comes into everyone’s mind when they get past teenage years. I knew this, as it wasn’t easy for me to get a job as my age stood as a hindrance and no vacancies showed up.

This is when my mother came as a saving grace and told me about her first job. She was a waiter at a chic restaurant. This wasn’t what I was looking forward to as a career option, but I decided to give it a shot. So I went ahead and applied to a number of restaurants in the vicinity and got a call from two.

As I put on my work cap, I thought I would own a restaurant like that one day. I could see myself managing a lot of things around and the manager also praised me on a number of points. All was going well until I started feeling physically exhausted at the end of the day and my calves ached badly.

I thought this would go away but it really slowed down my working ability. This is when my manager suggested I should get myself a pair of wooden clogs that were on sale in the market. I thought that those clogs wouldn’t suit me as they were hefty and somewhat unfashionable.

I avoided this until I had to visit a doctor and to my surprise, he even suggested me to get the same pair of shoes. This is when my mom intervened and told me that it was a compulsion now. She told me to take the day off and took me to the wooden clogs store nearby. I walked in feeling uneasy about what I was about to experience.

But today I can firmly say that those pair of clogs has saved me from the bad aches which I had experienced earlier. Clogs are perfect for those who have jobs that involve standing for long hours. The perfect arch and the solid soles give you a comfortable platform to walk on. Moreover, it supports the back, unlike the heels that I wore that was slowly killing my back.

Sweden is known for many things, and wooden clogs are one of them. A small village in Troentorp, along with the neighboring establishment of Bastad, has been consistently pumping out fine handmade clogs for over a century. Boasting of the same top-notch quality made in the same location and factory since 1907, Troentorp is a popular hotspot for tourists who want to catch a glimpse of the exquisite art of clog making.

In an age where most shoes and footwear are mass produced by robots in large factories, Clogs are quite unique in their own right, and the fact that it still demands the best hands in business for making them speaks of its exclusivity.

Troentorp clogs became widely popular during the 1970s, a period of renaissance for Swedish clogs when wooden footwear was in high demand. One of these popular designs is the Troentorp Bastad clogs.

So what makes Bastad clogs different from regular Troentorp clogs, apart from the obvious eye-catching distinct design?

1. Easy to Wear: Bastad clogs are open on the rear side while covering the entire front portion of the foot, which makes it a lot easier to put them on. Don’t want to waste time on putting your shoes? Bastad clogs are the right choice of footwear for you!

2. Minimized Wear and Tear: Troentorp Bastad clogs usually have no moving parts such as straps, hence the chances of wear and tear is decreased by a large margin. The hard wooden soles further help extend their life, making them a perfect accessory for any kind of road surface.

Take your fashion sensibilities to new heights with clog boots

Seasons come and go, but clogs reign supreme across all seasons. These wooden shoes are well known for their comfort and have become a fashion symbol for both men and women. If fashion and foot health means anything to you, get a pair of clogs. With summer going on a long vacation, it’s time to usher your pair of wooden clog boots from the closet to stave off the discernible chill of the coming fall and winter months.

Wooden clog boots like the Swedish ones incorporate a marriage of traditional finesse and modern fashion. These boots will become the top contender for the coming chilly months since they gel well with almost every winter wear. Whether you are heading out for work or gearing up for a romantic date, wooden clog boots accentuate your appearance and complement your sense of style in the best possible manner.

When there’s a talk about fashion, we generally harp on women’s fashion. While we forget that men’s fashion has evolved in leaps and bounds of late. And it’s apparent in the genre of shoe fashion. Shoe fashion for men has gone past the usual black shoes (chaplins, oxfords, ambassadors) since they don’t go well with every dress. It’s time to get into a pair of clog boots. Clog boots for men have risen in popularity because of their ruggedness and versatility. A pair of straight leg jeans with a body-hugging casual shirt and clog boots can be an ideal fashion statement for men. However, you should steer clear of cargo shorts. Instead, opt for a slim pair of chinos to look modern and chic.

With women, clogs revel in almost all seasons. They are able to impress people because of their trendy designs. But in the coming fall season and the subsequent winter months, you have to bid goodbye to the slip-on clog sandals, for clog boots will rule the roost. There are high clog boots and angle-leg clog boots. The heels are mostly made of wood while the upper material can be stitched with suede, leather or canvas. The merits of wearing clog boots in winter are significant. The tread on the sole of the boots protects you from slipping and keeps the feet warm.

Sturdily constructed, these boots can withstand harsh winter conditions while their stylishly carved design look appealing to the eyes. If you pair your clog boots with a skirt, add thick tights or socks in a similar color scheme as your clogs. It will make you appear taller. Long skirts also go well with clog boots but again, wear a pair of boot socks to add comfort to your feet.

Why Wooden Clog Boots Are Important Part Of Teacher’s Wardrobe

As soon as I graduated from my college, I applied for teaching jobs in various schools. I have always liked kids and admired my teachers throughout my life. I believe there is no job like that of a teacher as they selflessly give away all their knowledge to keep you updated and make you stand on your feet financially. This liking of mine made me work towards becoming a teacher myself.

I relentlessly studied for the examination that is one needs to qualify in order to become a teacher and finally got my certificate that made me eligible for junior classes. I was excited to be amidst students all day long and prepared for it a night before. I took out my best outfit that would decently pass me off as a teacher and a pair of matching heels to go with it. Little did I know of what was about to happen to my feet?

I walked into the class and started my day on a very enthusiastic note. After a few hours of standing and playing with my kids I realized I had a massive ache in my calves. I ignored this situation for a few days until the situation got grave.

Having made a few friends in school, I discussed this with them. They smiled and said that they had also gone through the same thing in the beginning. One of them told me this was because of the choice of my footwear and the fact that I had to stand for long hours in them while teaching.

She suggested that during a free period I should long on to the Internet and buy some wooden clog boots for starters. I did as I was told. I was never a fan of clog boots but from what I saw on the Internet, my perception changed immediately. Being a shopaholic at heart I immediately invested in 3 of them that would go with almost all my work outfits.

It is since then that I have suggested all the newcomers to wear wooden clog boots as a mandate for our profession. The kids can be taught only when they have active and healthy teachers present at all times with them.

The Real Reasons Why You Should Own At least One Pair of Wooden Clog Sandals

A lot has been written about owning a pair of wooden clog sandals over a period of time. Some talk about why you should own them and other about why you can forgo buying a pair. Nothing that I say or write should convince you to buy a pair of clogs, and that’s why I share my own experience of wearing wooden sandals every day for past 4 years of my life.

Firstly these pair of wooden sandals owns a legacy and have a story to tell. They have been around for a long time as a footwear option being the only constant when everything else in the fashion world kept on changing. Imagine being a part of that league!

It was 4 years back when one of my friends introduced me to wooden clog sandals. I hardly thought of them to be appealing until I walked into the store and experienced it for myself. The plethora of color options available changed my views about the stereotypical notion I had in my head about clog sandals.

Each and every item present in the store was fashionable and could be easily worn with any outfit looking like a perfect match. They're perfect transition shoe in that they're open in back but have a closed toe, perfect for these early fall days with chilly mornings and warm afternoons.

Secondly, most of the physical therapists recommend wearing clogs for those who have a back problem or suffer from posture issues. The make of the shoes is such that it forms a uniform platform for you to rest your feet on without having to arch them like heeled shoes.

At first, the shoes might fit tight and give you a little discomfort when you walk, but ultimately the leather upper opens up and forms the perfect shape of the foot making it comfortable for you to walk in it all day long.

Moreover, the wooden sole is easily repairable unlike other footwear options. All you need is the rugged piece of paper that can smoothen the chipped ends saving you a lot of time and money that you might otherwise spend on visiting your cobbler.

If you think wooden clogs are suitable for you, here's something that will convince you to go for handmade Swedish clog sandals.
