Clog Sandals-The Choice of Footwear for Nurses

Clog sandals for women are very popular today, and most women use those as a style statement. Sure, they look great and come in all kinds of colors, designs, and variants. They are long lasting too, adding to the overall appeal.

But nurses using clogs during working hours? Might sound surprising for non-healthcare people, but ask a nurse and they will tell you why. We are not nurses, but as somewhat of an expert on clog sandals for women and men, we can give you a generalized breakdown on why clogs are the choice of footwear for nurses:

Reason 1: They are very comfortable to be worn for over long periods. Nurses working for long hours such as overnight shifts know very well how a good choice of footwear can go a long way in avoiding foot and ankle pain, which creeps up unsuspectingly if your shoes are not well-contoured and well-fitting. Clog sandals and shoes are made of wood, which is designed to fit your feet naturally, lending comfort. Sure, clogs have a hard surface, not cushiony in any way, but they rest your feet firmly without compressing them, making them perfect for use over long hours.

Reason 2: Clogs are made of wood. Wood is a bad conductor of heat. As a result, wooden clogs are perfectly safe to be worn around electrical machines and devices used in hospitals. Many of the machines discharge static electric charges, which are not usually harmful in tiny amounts. But sometimes they accumulate, leading to increased charges and causing minor electric shocks. Wooden clog sandals for women and men have wooden bases, which prevent electrical charges from reaching the body and hence provide protection from random electrical shocks.

Reason 3: Cleanliness is one of the top aspects of hospitals. Everything, ranging from the uniform to shoes to exposed body areas need to be sanitized and free from germs. Wood is a natural sanitizer that keeps germs away. They can also be cleaned easily, and don’t attract dust as easily as other regular footwear do, making them perfect for usage in cleanliness-controlled environments.

Here Is How I Experienced A Different Level Of Comfort With Clogs

According to me, there are three different kinds of people in the world. The first category can wear almost any kind of footwear and roam about without an ounce of discomfort or pain in their feet, the second category needs just the perfect pair to conquer the world, and the third category of people will have a problem in everything that they adorn in their feet. I belong to the third category. If there is a slight possibility of a blister in wearing certain category of shoe, my feet will give in immediately and oblige the shoe with a blister. I have somewhat narrow feet that do not fit into ay kind of shoe perfectly. Everything will either big too broad for my feet or unshapely on my feet.

I had been dealing with these problems since the time I had hit adolescence. Prom was just around the corner and while I had decided on everything from my hairclip to the outfit I would wear that day, footwear choice was still undecided. A few days before my prom, my grandmother called me over to spend the weekend at her place. She had not seen me for quite some time and wanted to spend quality time before I walked into the next phase of my life. I jumped at the opportunity of taking my mind of the shoe drama and asked my elder brother to drive me to her place.

We had just made some coolers and I was sitting right across my grandmother on the patio, perched in the corner when I happened to look at her feet. She saw me analyzing the structure of her feet and immediately told me that she always had issues in selecting the footwear until he came across Swedish clogs for women. Since she had the same feet and almost similar size to me, I wanted to try on the clogs that she was harping about all this while. I asked her to lend me a pair of shoe to try on and generously obliged me by opening a wardrobe full of Swedish clogs for women. Before this, I had no clue that clogs could be a fashionable choice of footwear. I have not looked back on any other footwear choice since that day and clogs remain to be my favorite.

Have any wooden clog-related questions? We Answer!

Our past blogs and articles on wooden clog boots and other clogs, their history and their effects on the fashion industry were a big hit with our readers. We got many mails asking us about fashion advice, our desired choice of clogs and many more. So, we have decided to answer you some of the most common questions that we have received!

  1. Should I buy genuine leather clogs or synthetic leather ones?

Well, that depends on your preferences. Genuine leather ones are a tad more expensive, aren’t waterproof right out of the box (you will have to treat them regularly with waterproof coatings) and look more polished than synthetic leather. However, it takes a very keen eye to differentiate genuine from synthetic unless the material is felt with hand, and there’s virtually no difference in the general appearance, so you can go for the synthetic one if their lower price attracts you.

  2. Open toe wooden clog boots or closed toe?

Open toe clog boots are a great way to show off your new nail paint or your latest pedicure, and are good for almost all occasions, especially in areas where weather is hot and humid. Closed toe clog boots, on the other hand, are more suitable to be worn in-line with a summer dress or with skinny jeans, and are most suitable for use in cold and dry areas. However, the choice is ultimately down to the person wearing the clogs, for wooden shoes are generally multi-weather.

  3. I’ve seen people wear clogs with socks or stockings, and some with bare feet. Which one should I go for?

This is purely a personal choice. All wooden clogs generally use treated wood, ensuring that direct foot contact is as safe as it gets. If you live in a sunny area, avoid the socks unless needed. If you live in a cold area, socks will be the better choice.

  4. What should I wear for work? Wooden clog boots, heels or sandals?

Most ladies wear clog heels or clog sandals to work, for they are universally accepted in most offices. However, we’d recommend you check in with your office dress code before taking our word for it.

The Types Of Shoes That Every Man Should Have In Wardrobe

Men have limited choices when it comes to collecting fashionable things in their wardrobe. The dressing sense of men is limited to wearing either causal outfits like the shorts with t-shirts or formal like the button up shirts along with formal pants. Thankfully, they can make up for the loss of clothing wear in shoes and other accessories of their choice. While everything else in the accessories section is a given, there are different kind of shoes that men should have in their wardrobe to look and feel stylish.

Brogues: If you have an office setup that involves you dressing up formally, then brogues are the best bet that you can have. The various color options in brogues can help you match it with the rest of your outfit. You can quickly switch between formal office wear and the use of same shoes in a club that requires you to have shoes that speak volumes about your personality. With good shoes, you will end up impressing more women that you can imagine.

Men’s wooden clogs: clogs may seem like a thing meant only for girls, but when you look back on the history of clogs, men wore them more than women. Coming back to the present times, men’s wooden clogs have the same kind of place in the wardrobe of men who have long-standing hours at the job. For example, doctors, site engineers, and waiters prefer wearing men wooden clogs. It helps them in keeping the posture straight and provides support to the feet so that they can very well work their way without getting tired of standing.

Loafers: as the names suggest, loafers are casual shoes without any laces. You can easily slip them on and take them off in a jiffy. Since they are meant to be worn casually on your evening out with the friends, you can pick up loafers made up of canvas, faux leather or leather depending upon the choice. Some brands also sell these shoes in denim wear. The soles are comfortable in every sense of the word.

Want To Give Your Feet A Fresh Lease Of Life? Wear Clogs

Clogs have triggered a fashion wave in the shoe industry and every woman is upbeat about getting a piece of the pie. Women have always been very particular about shoes. Shoes enhance the sartorial splendor of a woman and add a finishing touch to any ensemble.

With the right shoes, a woman can conquer the attention of every man. Though the stilettos, wedges, ballerinas have found their acceptance with the softer sex, they couldn't give women the comfort they were craving for.

Entered ‘clogs’ into the scene and got women sold on them. These crazy-comfy wooden clog sandals struck the right chord with women’s’ fashion sense and gave women a complete package they were looking for-comfort and style.

Formerly footwear of the commoners, clogs became a street-style fodder of fashionista women. Not only do they wear incredibly well, but also give a fabulous 70s feel about them.  The ergonomic built of the wooden shoes with a lighter wooden sole and premium leather uppers made the right noise with women who wanted a versatile pair that will making walking in them a breeze. The distinct curvature of clogs helps the wearer to walk comfortably in them without teetering, which has made it a traveler's delight.

Clogs for women are fashioned in various styles; though your lifestyle and climate you live in will dictate your choice of clog-styles-whether you will go for closed-toe, open-toe or peep-toe.

Closed-toe one is the most popular and versatile among the three; you can rock the closed one in the prime seasons of the year-summer, autumn and fall. The most stunning thing about the closed-toe one is that you can don them with or without socks. They will look glamorous in both. But if you want to add some cuteness to your feet in summer, you can try the open-toe one.

For a newbie, clogs can feel as if they are standing on a block of wood. It may take time for them to get accustomed to the architecture of the shoe since they are walking in shoes that don’t flex as we walk. But once you get the hang of them, you will feel the magic they bring to your feet. Most importantly, it will be a worthwhile investment for you.

Are Clogs A New Fashion Accessory For Men?

Clogs are ruling the fashion charts. Born and bred up in Sweden during the 70s, clogs have stood the test of time and have evolved as a glitzy fashion accessory. Favored mostly by women as an alternative to stilettos, clogs are now being worn by men too.

Whether you are heading out for office or gearing up for a special occasion like a birthday party, clogs enhance your appearance by a few notches. Clogs come in a slew of designs and forms. You can get spoilt for choice if you have a look at the variety that clogs have to offer and can find it tough to find the right clog for your dress.

Clogs are handmade footwear. In older times, wood was mostly used to craft the structure of a clog. Though in recent times, leather and rubber are used for the upper portions and the sole is made of wood. So how are the wooden clogs made? The wood is first dried to deprive it of moisture and then wood is shaped according to the foot size. The upper leather is checked thoroughly and then stitched or nailed to the wooden sole. Then the clog is dyed to give a lasting impression.

Wooden clogs protect the feet better than other shoes because they are durable and ergonomically designed. They also serve as an insulator for the feet in winter. You can run along wearing them and flaunt them with ease at your business place or at a casual occasion. Most of the clogs now are unisex and can be worn by both men and women.

Men had at first dilly-dallied with the idea of wearing wooden clogs since the footwear was mostly popular with women. But of late, they have embraced the latest fashion mantra and are carrying them well enough. Men wooden clogs are mostly flat-based and cover the whole foot.

Wooden clogs have caught up with men very well. The shoes have emboldened their fashion statement and are popular among different professions. Clogs have maintained their versatile appeal and men can effortlessly steal the show with them.

How to Strike The Right Sartorial Balance with Clogs?

Women!! Are you on a quest for the perfect ensemble for your feet?? Guess what!! We have got you covered. Say hello to clogs. The uber cool and immaculately crafted wooden shoes makes the right noise with fashion geeks and limelight-hungry celebs.

Having its roots in Sweden, clogs had a rather simple childhood. They were foot-bearers of peasants and mill workers. The tough wooden built of the clogs protected their feet during their arduous endeavors. Having lost their relevance during the mid-70s, clogs sprang back to prominence riding on the glam quotient of elite brands like Victor Rolf and Chanel.

Don’t be surprised if you chance upon these reincarnated sartorial pieces in every fashionista's wardrobe. Clogs have added sparkle to every outfit and women can’t stop gushing about them. Be it with a one-piece or a jeans and top combo or any dress whatsoever, clogs teamed up effortlessly with all. A sheer handmade craftsmanship, clogs are equipped with high-quality, carefully treated wooden soles and premium leather uppers which inflate the style factor of these vintage pieces.

We can’t help but mention that the surge of clogs amongst the fashion spectrum has irked the footwear fraternity. Stilettos, ballerinas, which were once the pump of choice of elite women have gone the mundane route. They were stylish and had an oomph factor but they weren't comfortable. Here’s where clogs took the wind out of their sails.

Clogs for women are ergonomically built. The bottom of the shoe is shaped in an upward curve to form an arch for superior comfort. Glide your feet into one of those masterpieces and you will feel a change in your stance. Walk or run in them and you will experience no buckling or wobbling of your feet. They provide excellent ankle support and fit the foot properly to minimize stress on the feet, back and knees. Need we say more why women are in awe for clogs.

Clogs come on the expensive side though. So what!! Life is too short to fuss about loosening your purse strings when you have confessed your love for clogs. Sometimes a guilty pleasure is worth the money spent.

How To Raise Your Style-Quotient Up A Few Notches With Clog Boots?

Keeping yourself up-to-date with fashion can be a quite consuming thing as well as frustrating. Fashion is evolving at the blink of an eye. What’s in fashion today may be old school tomorrow. However, fashion recycles itself quite often…it’s almost comes back like a boomerang. The saying-what goes around comes around- chimes well with fashion.

What was once worn at one point of time, will inevitably be worn in the coming years. The story is similar with clogs. Clogs were the go-to footwear of the 70s. They found favour with factory and mill workers since they protected their feet during their hard endeavors. And all of a sudden they lost their charm and their presence in the ensuing decades. A prominent footwear went into the dumps.

As luck would have it, clogs caught the eye of leading fashion labels and were given a reincarnation by fashioning them into a new avatar. Clogs shone like never before in glitzy fashion parades and fashionistas gaped at them in awe as they cradled the feet of models dancing down the ramp. Clogs graduated from being run-of-the-mill footwear to a fashion accessory.

For long, women have donned and loved stilettos and high-heeled footwear. These cosmetically attractive shoes were the choice of pump of every woman, though they came with their fair share of discomfort to the feet. For a fashionista who has worn elite shoes since her heydays, settling for a dowdy alternative is asking too much for.

Today’s women consider footwear more as an embellishment for the feet or a form of personal expression than protection from natural elements. Though women won’t deny that they hate wearing high heels, they won’t mind having a footwear which marries comfort with style. And clog boots are exactly that and much more.

Clog boots have generated a lot of interest among style-conscious women since they chimed well with their sensibilities. These wooden boots not only accentuate the aesthetics of a woman but also provide their feet ample comfort so that they can strut in them all day long without experiencing any discomfort. The anatomically contoured and cushioned foot-bed, arch support and shock absorption have made the wooden clog boots the darling of many-a-woman.

Pair those funky clog boots with slim or skinny denims for a timeless look. You can also team them with an overcoat or a leather jacket and tread off to office on a casual Friday and make yourself stand out from the maddening crowd.

How To Become A Trend-Setter With Clogs?

Clogs are a traveller’s delight. Wearing this classic piece of footwear you can saunter around a lonely beach or explore the wilderness of a picnic spot or navigate sands in a desert safari. This humble, chunky shoe was a staple footwear of gardeners and factory workers alike in the 70s since they provided superior protection to the feet from harsh weather and outdoor conditions. They were hip in the 70s, but diminished in popularity towards the later decades and eventually went into retirement.

But towards the first decade of the 21st century, Swedish clogs assumed a fashionable reputation thanks to the efforts of leading brands Victor & Rolf who pulled them out of retirement and gave them an elite fashion status.

Since then clogs have come back into the mainstream. Women took no time to have a preserve of this new-fangled fashion trend.  The savvy wooden shoes quickly sauntered onto the feet of fashionistas and they couldn’t get enough of them. Such was the popularity that chic women can’t help but garner dozens of pairs to satisfy their sartorial craze.

Clogs gained so much currency within a few years that they toppled other fashion footwear like stilettos, ballerinas, mules from their positions and started to rule the fashion footwear charts. Even manufacturers of fashion footwear wanted to cash in on the popularity and started fashioning clogs in a slew of avatars.

So why did clogs become every fashionista woman’s new-found love? Woman can effortlessly juggle the humdrums of versatile city life in clogs without worrying about breaking their ankle. The sturdy combination of wooden base and leather uppers in various colors and designs make it much more stable than a wedge and provide ample toe-room than a loafer, making it the most comfortable footwear for women.

After becoming a surprise hit, clogs are started decking every woman’s feet in a rainbow of colors. Black, dark brown, scarlet red and navy blue-these colors are the must-have for your wardrobe and will gel well with every outfit, you name it. Whether it’s a casual stroll down a high-end street or a business gathering, clogs will ooze confidence and will make your presence felt.

Clogs, which were at the zenith of their popularity in the 70s, failed to capture the attention of people in the subsequent years and went into oblivion. But in the early 2000s, clogs came back with a bang in a brand new avatar. The design of the new-generation clogs stole the hearts of many-a-woman when models paraded the fashion ramps of Gucci and Chanel in them.
