Why Wooden Clog Boots Are Important Part Of Teacher’s Wardrobe

As soon as I graduated from my college, I applied for teaching jobs in various schools. I have always liked kids and admired my teachers throughout my life. I believe there is no job like that of a teacher as they selflessly give away all their knowledge to keep you updated and make you stand on your feet financially. This liking of mine made me work towards becoming a teacher myself.

I relentlessly studied for the examination that is one needs to qualify in order to become a teacher and finally got my certificate that made me eligible for junior classes. I was excited to be amidst students all day long and prepared for it a night before. I took out my best outfit that would decently pass me off as a teacher and a pair of matching heels to go with it. Little did I know of what was about to happen to my feet?

I walked into the class and started my day on a very enthusiastic note. After a few hours of standing and playing with my kids I realized I had a massive ache in my calves. I ignored this situation for a few days until the situation got grave.

Having made a few friends in school, I discussed this with them. They smiled and said that they had also gone through the same thing in the beginning. One of them told me this was because of the choice of my footwear and the fact that I had to stand for long hours in them while teaching.

She suggested that during a free period I should long on to the Internet and buy some wooden clog boots for starters. I did as I was told. I was never a fan of clog boots but from what I saw on the Internet, my perception changed immediately. Being a shopaholic at heart I immediately invested in 3 of them that would go with almost all my work outfits.

It is since then that I have suggested all the newcomers to wear wooden clog boots as a mandate for our profession. The kids can be taught only when they have active and healthy teachers present at all times with them.

The Real Reasons Why You Should Own At least One Pair of Wooden Clog Sandals

A lot has been written about owning a pair of wooden clog sandals over a period of time. Some talk about why you should own them and other about why you can forgo buying a pair. Nothing that I say or write should convince you to buy a pair of clogs, and that’s why I share my own experience of wearing wooden sandals every day for past 4 years of my life.

Firstly these pair of wooden sandals owns a legacy and have a story to tell. They have been around for a long time as a footwear option being the only constant when everything else in the fashion world kept on changing. Imagine being a part of that league!

It was 4 years back when one of my friends introduced me to wooden clog sandals. I hardly thought of them to be appealing until I walked into the store and experienced it for myself. The plethora of color options available changed my views about the stereotypical notion I had in my head about clog sandals.

Each and every item present in the store was fashionable and could be easily worn with any outfit looking like a perfect match. They're perfect transition shoe in that they're open in back but have a closed toe, perfect for these early fall days with chilly mornings and warm afternoons.

Secondly, most of the physical therapists recommend wearing clogs for those who have a back problem or suffer from posture issues. The make of the shoes is such that it forms a uniform platform for you to rest your feet on without having to arch them like heeled shoes.

At first, the shoes might fit tight and give you a little discomfort when you walk, but ultimately the leather upper opens up and forms the perfect shape of the foot making it comfortable for you to walk in it all day long.

Moreover, the wooden sole is easily repairable unlike other footwear options. All you need is the rugged piece of paper that can smoothen the chipped ends saving you a lot of time and money that you might otherwise spend on visiting your cobbler.

If you think wooden clogs are suitable for you, here's something that will convince you to go for handmade Swedish clog sandals.

Brief History of Clogs and their Popularity as Nursing Shoes Today

Fashion is always undergoing changes. What has today caught the fancy of one and all happens to be backless slip-on shoes for women which are better known as clogs. Historically, clogs were renowned for their heavy soles and the usage of sturdy materials. They were worn by factory workers, farmers, and miners as a form of protective footwear in Scandinavia. The popularity replicated itself very quickly in the Netherlands where they started to be worn as well.

Even though such shoes are mostly associated with the Scandinavian countries, wooden shoes have been worn throughout the British Isles, Europe and the Mediterranean areas such as Greece and Italy. They also became highly popular at the time of the Industrial Revolution as a protective shoe for the workers.

During the wars of the twentieth century, the governments of a majority of the countries in Europe urged its citizens to wear wooden shoes due to a deficiency in the supply of leather. These efforts, however, proved to be unsuccessful as the wooden shoes still continued to be viewed as footwear for the working classes.

In the United States, these shoes became popular when in the 1960’s William School introduced a therapeutic footwear with a wooden base. A decade later, these shoes also known as clogs became a fashion trend after being worn by the group Abba.

Today even though clogs retain the look of the shoes which were available in the 70’s, the materials used have undergone some change. Today apart from wood, rubber and other synthetic materials are also used when making clogs so that they are able to withstand the effects of heat and water. These shoes are now available in a wide variety of colors for women.

Even though uppers made of leather are available, rubber clogs have gained widespread popularity, especially with nurses as they can be cleaned very easily. Operating room personnel have used clogs for a long time as they cannot wear any other footwear for such long hours. The rubber provides day long support and a firm foundation for weak arches and plantar fasciitis. They also help an individual stand straight as they take the pressure off the lower back.

Clogs, because of their ability to provide immense durability and improved durability have become highly popular amongst medical professionals and the general population alike.

Women’s Clogs - Defying Conventional Standards of Footwear Fashion

Women’s footwear is often associated with sleek designs and feminine structuring- take the example of stilettos, they are sleek, pointy, uncomfortable and constricting.

Since centuries, women’s clothes and even their shoes have been designed to make women fit into the set standards of beauty and perfection. There were corsets that helped women achieve a tiny waist, sometimes even at the cost of their health, and there were shoes that would make the feet sore for days after being worn.

Thankfully, in the present time, such superficial standards have been done away with and perfection is more about being in one’s own skin.

Of late, clogs have come to be the go-to shoes for the women of today. They are versatile, comfortable and chunky- the best combination to define the temperament of the ladies whose feet they adorn.

Women’s clogs are more about functionality and performance and are not defined by their femininity. They are durable and can keep the wearer comfortable for hours at a stretch, even when the wearer needs to be active on her feet throughout the day.

Ideally made of wood, leather and PU, clogs are perfect as work shoes. Nurses, chefs and professionals serving in the hospitality sector are seen to swear by clogs.

Some models of women’s clogs come with a padded insole that can double up the comfort factor of these shoes and also provide a more customized fit for all feet sizes and shapes.

Clogs come in a variety of styles- there are completely closed ones, there are slip on clog shoes that have an open back and there are the open sandals that come with straps.

Women’s clogs are usually heeled, with the bottoms and heels made from the wood of alder and lime trees. The wood is dehydrated so that the wood is capable of absorbing moisture from the feet. This means that all traces of sweat are absorbed and the feet stay dry and comfortable.

Clogs are great shoes to be worn for casual outings as well- just slip them on and you are good to go.

My Experience of Picking Wooden Clogs for Sale on Black Friday

Since the day I realized my love for fashion, I have been a fan of all things related to personal styling, especially footwear. So, it didn’t come off as a surprise to my peers when I announced that I wanted to start a blog on shoes. I sat down to learn about blogging and to see the work of all the shoe bloggers who were doing well online at that time.

I was looking for the thing that would differentiate my blog from the usual rest. I was still in the process of looking for a USP for my blog when my friend suggested that I just had to be myself to be different. This was no revelation from my friend. All she meant was that I was already different from the other bloggers as all my footwear suggestions were based on my first-hand experience of wearing them on different occasions.

So this Black Friday, I decided to spend on something I considered more than just footwear. I spent my money on a pair of wooden clogs for sale.

Clog shoes have a history that dates back to the 16th century and their transformation from being simple everyday shoes to being everyone’s favorite is quite intriguing.

Moreover, the best part about wooden clogs is that they are environment-friendly footwear as they are primarily made of recyclable, and mostly natural materials.

Shopping on Black Friday has always been a maddening experience, but this year, it turned to a fight as everybody seemed to be diving towards the comfort wear section- getting your hands on the best pair of wooden clogs for sale seemed nearly impossible.

Having worn them almost every day after the Black Friday sale as they go with almost anything, I can surely say that wooden clogs are on the top of my favorite shoes list.
